MINSK, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Belarus is focusing on the experience of its strategic ally, Russia, in the military sphere, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko said Thursday in an interview with Belarus Segodnya publishing house.

Muraveiko emphasized the strategic partnership between the two nations, highlighting how Belarus seeks to enhance its defense capabilities by drawing from Russia's extensive experience in military operations and strategy.

According to him, a balance has been achieved within the republic among various branches and types of armed forces. Currently, unmanned aerial vehicles are being developed as a distinct focus within the Belarusian army.

Belarus continues to enhance its engineering troops, radiological, chemical, and biological defense units, electronic warfare capabilities, artillery and counter-battery operations, as well as modern long-range strike systems such as Polonez and Iskander, Muraveiko said.

The collaboration with Russia not only fortifies Belarus's national security but also reinforces the military alliance between the two countries, ensuring a unified front in the face of regional challenges, he added. Enditem
