TEHRAN, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Iranian media disclosed on Sunday details of Israel's attack on Iran's Supreme National Security Council meeting last month, reporting that several high-ranking officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, sustained minor injuries.

According to semi-official Fars news agency, the high-level meeting was held on June 16 in the lower level of a building, and attended by the heads of Iran's three government branches and other senior officials.

The report said that six bombs or missiles were launched at the building, specifically targeting its entrances and exits in an apparent attempt to block escape routes and air circulation. The explosions also severed the power supply to the ground floor.

Participants managed to evacuate the meeting room through a pre-installed emergency hatch. Pezeshkian and others reportedly suffered minor leg injuries while escaping.

Given the precision of the strike, Iranian authorities are investigating the possibility of insider involvement.

The report underscored what it described as a calculated attempt to target Iran's top leadership and destabilize the country's security apparatus.

Iranian officials have not yet commented publicly on the incident. Enditem
